In my various roles, I have consistently supported planned, organized, and supported a wide range of events. I have played a key role in managing logistical aspects, ensuring seamless coordination and execution. Additionally, I have actively promoted and supported commercial events, showcasing my skills in event planning and execution. Throughout these experiences, I have developed strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, time management, problem-solving, and the ability to work under pressure. This diverse experience has equipped me with the expertise to handle events efficiently and effectively in various contexts. While engaging in activities that helped me learn the importance of sustainability and CSR.

Trade Show and Customer Training

Coffee Trade Show

During my time at Novedades Alimenticias, I participated in organizing the participation of the company in the Coffee Trade Show hosted by AGEXPORT to promote Guatemalan coffee. The company had a stand to showcase the coffee machines and ice cream displays we imported from Italy. To attract visitors, we provided gelato and coffee samples at the event. My role encompassed multiple tasks, including assisting with the development of gelato flavours that we were displaying, managing the transportation logistics to ensure the products arrived in perfect condition, and serving the samples while promoting our products. Our stand attracted significant attention, resulting in increased interest and inquiries about our coffee machines and ice cream displays. The event was a success, demonstrating my ability to effectively manage product preparation, logistics, and customer engagement in a high-pressure environment.

Customer Training

I was involved in organizing a three-day training event for customers who purchased our raw materials, such as pre-mixes, bases, and flavours for pastries and gelato. The event featured live cooking demonstrations by a chef from PreGel to showcase how to use our products effectively.

My role during this event was supporting the chef, ensuring clients had everything they needed, and managing all necessary materials and equipment at the venue. All the planning and coordination from the team ensured the event ran smoothly, and the participants could fully engage with the training. As a result of the event, we increased our sales in the products that were utilized which also reflected in customer satisfaction and loyalty.

K-lifestyle Trade Show

The K-lifestyle Trade Show, was a two-day event where various companies showcased products imported from Korea. My responsibilities included being present at the event to assist the companies, organizing logistics between the exhibitors and the mall, and promoting future trade events to attract potential importers of Korean products. Additionally, we had influencers promoting the companies and the event, and we coordinated their participation and attendance. Through my efforts, I facilitated smooth operations, enhanced communication between participants, and effectively managed the influencers’ presence to maximize exposure. My proactive promotion of upcoming trade opportunities garnered interest from attendees, positioning us as a go-to resource for importing new products from Korea. This contributed to the overall success and positive reception of the trade show.

In addition to this trade show, I actively participated in organizing and promoting other trade shows for the Korean Trade and Investment Agency. Due to the pandemic, these trade shows were held online, presenting challenges in engaging companies because of the logistical difficulties the world was facing. Despite these challenges, I successfully contacted companies to participate in the following events:

  1. Chungbuk 2021 (virtual mode): This event allowed attendees to meet Korean food suppliers offering a variety of products, such as natural and vegetable drinks, and various sweets.
  2. Bio-World Health Online: This event showcased various innovative medical devices featuring the latest technology.
  3. BuyKOREA Digital Trade Show 2021: This event featured a wide range of Korean suppliers presenting products from consumer goods to industrial items.
  4. GMEP 2022: Koreans were promoting medical equipment with the latest technology like artificial intelligence and smart healthcare.

After these trade shows, I diligently followed up with participating companies to ensure they would purchase products and help us achieve importation goals. My support while organizing, promoting, and following up on these events was crucial in maintaining engagement and driving business outcomes during challenging times.

Donations and Sustainability Events

In my role as an Administrative assistant at the Koran International Agency, I had the opportunity to help organize donations for the Association of Alumni of KOICA. The objectives of this donation were organizations focused on sustainability goals, ensuring our contributions aligned with our commitment to the environment. These donations had a rigorous process from quoting the best equipment that we intended to donate, to ensuring it met the organizations’ needs and standards. Additionally, we had to organize and coordinate events where the donated supplies were delivered, ensuring smooth logistics and timely distribution. Finally, we had to generate detailed reports for these donations was crucial to uphold compliance with policies and transparency in our efforts, documenting our support for sustainable practices and initiatives aimed at building a better future.

Donation of medical supplies to health center

In 2022, COVID-19 concerns were still present in Guatemala. As a result, we organized a donation that aimed at providing essential medical supplies to a clinic located in a low-income neighborhood in Guatemala City. The clinic required protective equipment to safely attend to patients, as they lacked adequate resources. My role involved coordinating the procurement and donation of medical supplies. This donation not only to support the clinic in providing crucial healthcare services but also to contribute to community health resilience during challenging times.

Turtle release & cleaning of the Aldea Vieja beach in Taxisco.

I participated in organizing a turtle release and beach cleaning activity at Aldea Vieja in Taxisco, the objective of this event was to raise awareness about sea turtle conservation and the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems. My role involved organizing logistical arrangements to ensure smooth transportation for the group to the AGHN Marine Conservation Center, confirming the participation and engagement of association members, and coordinating the procurement of necessary supplies for the event. I initiated coordination efforts by contacting club members, quoting the different transportation options, and ensuring all participants were informed and prepared for the activity. Additionally, I liaised with the conservation center to confirm our visit, facilitated introductions and ensured all supplies for the beach cleaning and turtle release were readily available. The event was a profound learning experience for all involved, highlighting the critical importance of sustainability practices and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in preserving marine ecosystems. Through effective coordination and engagement, we successfully participated in the conservation efforts, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship among club members and reinforcing our commitment to protecting the environment.

Donation of equipment for monitoring freshwater quality

At the Korean Cooperation Agency, we had a program where previous recipients of scholarships proposed donations to an organization of their interest. I was in charge of organizing oversee the donation to The Asociación Guatemalteca de Limnología y Gestión de Lagos, whose main goal is promoting the comprehensive use and conservation of inland waters, received a donation of equipment for freshwater quality monitoring and aquatic microorganism research.

I was responsible for quoting and purchasing the specialized equipment required by the association. It was crucial to ensure that the equipment met their rigorous standards and quality expectations. Additionally, I coordinated the logistics for the delivery of the equipment to ensure it arrived safely and on time for their operations. I began by researching and sourcing the necessary equipment, obtaining multiple quotes to find the best fit for their needs. After thorough evaluation and consultation with the association, I finalized the purchase, ensuring compliance with all technical specifications and budget constraints. Coordinating with suppliers and logistics teams, I managed the delivery process to guarantee smooth transportation and installation.

We had an event to formally donate the equipment. We were able to present the results and programs the association managed. This donation not only contributed the association to having the tools to fulfill its objectives but also contributed to enhancing freshwater management practices and biodiversity conservation efforts in Guatemala. Helping to realize the importance of conservation initiatives.
